The 8 blade is specially designed for efficiently working through mats. Extra sharp, protected teeth with smaller, non-sharp parting blades in between to further separate mats without the need to cut as much hair. Use also for removing unwanted undercoat on heavily coated dogs such as Huskies, Golden Retrievers and Australian Shepherds.
Use the 12 blade for removing unwanted undercoat on less densely coated dogs like German Shepherds or on the jacket of Bouviers.
Use the 20 blade for unwanted undercoat on smaller lighter coated dogs like Schnauzers or Terriers before you start carding.
