Getting Ready to Reopen - A Grooming Salon Checklist

Getting Ready to Reopen - A Grooming Salon Checklist

Published by Marco Lalau on 13th Mar 2020

As more and more States are preparing to lift restrictions - is your grooming salon ready to reopen? We've put together a handy checklist so you can make sure you have everything covered.

Employees. Make sure everyone is ready and healthy to return to work. Let people know their schedules as soon as possible so they can plan around other commitments. Educate them on hand-washing and sanitization policies. If possible make a separate room for them.

Clients. Make sure clients know that you are open and be mindful when booking appointments; clients need time to pick up/drop off, without any crossover. If you are doing curbside pick up - be clear on instructions.

Inventory. Take stock of inventory and see what you need to reorder. Don't leave this too late as some of the manufacturers have been closed and some essential items maybe scarce. We've put together a list of salon essentials below that we currently have in stock (while supplies last).

Salon Interior. Clean and sanitize everything - floors, walls, tubs, tables, cages, door knobs, cabinets, towels, smocks and aprons etc. Use an EPA approved disinfectant.

Salon Exterior. Make sure windows/doors are clean with updated opening hours, new protocols and old signs removed. Parking lots and sidewalks are swept and garbage free.
